Since I was a little blond haired wee one I have always loved plants. I remember playing in our grassy backyard and loving the veggie and flower garden my mom had. Nature always felt like home to me.
When I was in my early 20’s over the course of a few months I started feeling increasingly off center and sick. I had a multitude of disparate symptoms and no idea what was causing them. All I knew was that I felt awful. By grand design a friend suggested maybe I had candida. I had never heard of it, but something resonated and I knew that was it.
I read books, researched online, saw a naturopath, and went to work healing myself. In just one week I was able to feel so much better! This gave me even more confidence to trust my instincts, listen to my body and keep going with what I was doing. With consistent effort over a good amount of time I healed myself. In the process I learned so much about the power of food (hello kale!), and herbs (hello oregano!) that it renewed my love for plants. Ann Wigmore says, “The food we eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison,” and I wholeheartedly agree.
In my mid 30’s I continued to deepen my relationship with the plants doing a two year advanced apprenticeship with The Gaia School of Healing in California, and afterwards mentored incoming apprentices. I journeyed with and studied many plants, learned more about Western Herbalism, The Wise Woman Tradition, Plant Spirit Medicine, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Then I became a mother, and I knew I could make effective, organic, and great tasting cold, cough and flu support for my family. I also wanted to make prenatal and postnatal creations for myself and all the amazing mama's around me. This turned into Tasha Rose Remedies, and I love sharing my heartfelt creations with you and other health conscious families. Welcome to the family!
